Sundate at Cafe Etc. - Steakhouse, Bar & Grill

Love dressing up on a Sunday. Heading to church and going on a "Sundate" with Joshie.
Below is the verse which I've learnt in service and its like a constant reminder in our everyday lives.
"He is before all things, and in him all things hold together" - Colossians 1:17
At times we've forgotten that he is the ultimate sustainer in our lives. He alone sustain our life and holding all things together for us.

Haha. A selfie while waiting for Joshie to drive out for lunch at Upper Thomson.

We finally settled down at a cafe :

Cafe Etc. - Steakhouse, Bar & Grill

Address: 203 Upper Thomson Road, Singapore 573344
Tel: 62562848

Tried out their set lunch. Chose the Eggs Benedict as it is still my all time favourite Brunch food!

Truffle Fries it's a MUST HAVE when we are on a date in a cafe. Don't ask me why.. but it seems to be a "usual" for us already.

A wefie with Joshie to end our Sundate!

Enjoying every single moment spent with Joshie <3

Singapore Cafe: Hangout @ Sin Lee Foods

Met up my ex-PA colleagues on a Saturday
Its pretty rare that all of us are available on a weekend.

It was Jessica's turn to suggest on the food place this month.
Haha, usually we take turns to suggest on food places but I've decided to opt out.
Well... not very good at giving food suggestions.

So.... this month's meet up was at Sin Lee Foods.
Overall, I love the place :) The dishes were pretty fusion.

Tada..

Don't be deceived by the "greeny" yucky broccoli look. I tell you, this is onw of my favourite dish.
Its so crispy!

Aburi Broccoli Salad

Soft Shell Bun (Can't exactly remember the name of this dish)

Smoked Salmon Hash

The Breakfast Tortilla

Sin Lee's Fried Chicken and Waffles
This is really sinful! Not a fan of fried food but overall, the fried chicken complements the waffle nicely. Giving a sweet-salty taste.

6 of us - Rare meetup on a Saturday :)

Sin Lee Foods
Blk 4 Jalan Bukit Ho Swee #01-164 Singapore 162004

Friendship and catching up

So long since we last met. I am glad we did and it was nice catching up with every single one of them.
We are all busy with our lives but I am glad that everyone is striving hard to achieve our goals.

We were all friends from secondary school except for Jojo and Vivian (know since primary schools).
So I can say we do know each other in and out. Ermmm, which means even the most ugly sight of us is nothing new. However, we are all quick to forgive and forget. I think that is the no. 1 rule in friendship.

We all have flaws in our own ways but that's how we learnt through experiences.

I don't have much friends...
Which I feel its not really necessary and prefer quality than quantity.
Over the years, I've growth to be more of the "listening ear" to friends than me sharing much about my life. Which I really like it a lot, that's probably why I choose to study social work. I like helping, providing solutions to people or rather just listening.

Oh, and I do treasure these friends a lot :) They are friends whom I would like to keep for life.

Anyways, we were talking about marriage, renovation, work and boyfriends (husbands to be). hahaha! Our conversation have growth so much over the years. Previously, the conversations were about boys, school, girls drama and etc.. hahaha

Looking forward to every meet-up!
Next up will be for Tsai Ting's birthday :)

Product - Le Blanc Light Revealing Whitening Fluid Foundation and Le Blanc Light Creator Whitening Compact Foundation

"A girl should be two things: Classy and Fabulous"
 - COCO CHANEL

For my birthday, both besties (Vivian and Minghui) got me two Chanel Gift Cards.
So, I went down to Chanel Cosmetic Outlet and got myself:

LE BLANC LIGHT REVEALING WHITENING FLUID FOUNDATION SPF 30 / PA+++
BEIGE

I love the texture and the scent of the liquid foundation. It makes my skin look flawless. It has a whitening effect as well. The thing that I like about this foundation is that it blends really well with my skin. Would definitely recommend ladies who love liquid foundation to try it.

LE BLANC LIGHT CREATOR WHITENING COMPACT FOUNDATION SPF 25 / PA+++BEIGE
Ladies who prefer a full coverage for their face do opt for this Compact Powder. It comes with the whitening effect that helps to brighten the complexion. At the same time, it corrects the dull hues and yellow-toned skin. However, I personally still prefer using loose powder on my face.

Overall, a satisfied buy at Chanel. Intend to try out their Makeup Base some other time :)

Social Work - 4 Types of Child Abuse - Physical, Emotional, Neglect and Sexual

Attended a "Child Abuse Awareness" Talk recently at MSF (Ministry of Social and Family Development. It's a really insightful one and it really changed my perspective/thinking on the "Child Abuse" topic.

Before the talk, the only thing I know about child abuse is violence-physical. Those that you see in Crime Watch which helped to educate the public on what to do when you encounter such cases. In fact, there are more to what the victim (child) may experience - in terms of his/her physical and emotional well-being.

#Typesofchildabuse #learningpoint2
Sharing with my readers on the types of child abuse. Gained many insights from the talk itself.

1. Physical Abuse

Is to aggress directly to a child. The abuse involves slapping, punching, scalding, kicking, burning, biting and etc. Of course, it depends on the level of strength and intensity. Some participants asked "how about the cane-strategy to teach a child?" It very much depends on your intent to hurt this child. Sometimes the victim may end up feeling that "hitting" is a norm as he/she did not behave well. The victim does not know what is right or wrong.

2. Emotional Abuse

Is a behaviour that impairs a child's emotional development. It includes threatening, blackmailing, shouting, criticism and etc. This type of abuse may result in psychological trauma. Many parents are ignorant or are not away that their words may cause an impact in their child's upbringing. Words can be as mighty as a sword and cripple a child for life.

3. Neglect Abuse

The absence of a parent to meet the basic needs of a child with food, clothing, shelter, medical care and education. This type of child abuse is often the "blind spot" for parents and it's not easy to spot. It depends on the intent of parents leaving a child alone - at home and the age of the child.

Sometimes, the child has to take on the role of the parent. The patient might become physically or mentally unable to care for a child.

4. Sexual Abuse

Sexual abuse refers to any action that pressures or coerces someone to do something sexually that they don't want to do. Some sexual assault and abuse are unwanted kissing or touching, rape, degrading act, child pornography, encouragement of prostitution and etc. This may result in behavioural changes in a child. Such as self-harm, anger issues, withdrawn, clingy and etc.

Reporting of  Suspected Child Abuse

Reporting of suspected child abuse is the first step in preventing or stop the abuse from happening. This will allow an appropriate investigation to be conducted.

Social Work - Medisave, Medishield and Medifund (Your Important 3Ms)

My first week of SWA training is over.
#1stlearningpoint "Your Important 3Ms".

Me: "What's 3Ms?"
*Jokingly*
"Is it the company that sells scotch-tape?"
My buddy: "No la! Your Medisave, Medishield and Medifund"

Yes, Of course! That's the monthly portion of CPF savings which I can pay for my personal medical expenses. Ahh, but what's Medishield and Medifund?

My point is: Almost all Singaporeans have government subsidies. Therefore, healthcare is made affordable for us. Falling sick can be stressful and worrying. Below is an infographic I've made for readers to understand your basic "3Ms" (It's pretty much self-explanatory)

To view: Click on the picture.

Will continue to share more in my other posts:)
Don't Worry! You're covered!

Family - The person I inherited my sense of humor and auntie-ness - My dad

Pa cooked home-made Chili Crab yesterday.

It was really delicious! I wonder why I didn't inherit this part of him.

Our conversation:

Me: Pa ah! Can teach me cook Chili Crab not?

Pa: You think so easy learn ah? I refuse to reach you lei. Later you don't miss my cooking how? My way to lure you back for dinner after you get married.

Me: *roll eyes* at my Pa. He is very good at this!

My best friends all know that my dad can be very funny and naggy at times. Sometimes he does things that make me *roll eyes* and laugh at his jokes.

A photo of my very handsome dad in his younger days.

Things that my dad likes to do:
1. Talk to me every morning before I go to work (Esp, when I am doing make-up). - "Girl ahhhh.... I tell you ah..."
2. Ask me to like his pictures on facebook. -"Girl ah.. you got my facebook picture anot?"
3. Ask me to be his critic on his cooking. -  "Girl ah... nice not ah?"
4. Talk to me about the Tv shows that he watched.
5. Send me text messages when I am in my room.. "Girl ah, have you sleep ah?"

I probably got my sense of humor and auntie-ness from him. Yea, he is my dad and I do love him for the way he is and his way of showing concern for me.
